This is a big week for Tarweed Folk School, and a busy one at that! In addition to our holiday classes (with spaces still left in Thursday's Tin Can Luminaries class), we've got a lot of news to share.

This week, Sunia Yang reflects on generosity and the power it holds, when you receive it but also when you bestow it. Sunia has taken all kinds of classes at Tarweed, supports our free events and offerings, helps us figure out systems and numbers for our organization, and will also lead few lichen walks next year!

This week, Daniel Pono Takamori shares why it feels so precious - especially this year - to tend to plants, land, tools, and people that will long outlive us.

Read Daniel's letter below and remember we still have space available in next week's holiday classes: Tin Can Luminaries and Wreaths and Winter Garlands. Also, our Holiday Market is on Saturday, December 13th from 10am - 3pm at Wade Hardware!

We are launching our Year-End Fundraiser with a goal of raising $20,000 by the end of this year. Over the next six weeks, our Steering Committee members will share stories of what we've done - reflections from our year of folk schooling and the milestones that brought us joy!

This week, Margot Schwarz kicks off our series with an overview of our favorite accomplishments from 2025. Margot is passionate about community-building, regenerative food systems, and empowering folks to learn from their neighbors!
