TARWEED SEEDS

A full room of friends at our Holiday Market this month. I (Rose) look at this photo often - it is a marvelous display of the warmth, energy, and joy and I feel proud to reference as part of what we do.

This week marks the 6th and final story as part of our series and it comes from Rose Holdorf. The pace of the season will soon pick up again, but it is in the slower times that we can reflect on what we do and how we do it. After all, folk schools are made as we go, and in collaboration with others.

Read Rose's letter below and see our list of upcoming Spring classes, some of which still have spots left. We wish you all a Happy New Year and look forward to 2026 and our continued participation in the community!

Duncan splitting an oak log for a multi-week greenwood stool building class this fall.

This week our story comes from Duncan Ellinwood, who joined our Steering Committee this year and is a greenwood chair maker, performing all of his woodwork exclusively with hand tools (trust us, you will want to see some of his incredible work on his website). Duncan shares how craft instills in him a sense of childlike wonder, and why crafting with others is a powerful force for good.

Read Duncan's letter below and see our list of upcoming Spring classes. We hope everyone had a Happy Solstice and have lots of time this week with family and loved ones. Welcome back, sun and light!

This week, Kiko Denzer shares what is truly at the heart of Tarweed classes and events: it's all about relation-and-friend-ships. Our connections bind us to each other, and sharing our stories keeps it all going.

Read Kiko's letter below, see our list of upcoming classes (now open for registration!), and learn more about how you can organize your own workshop or event. We also want to send a joyous and heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in our Holiday Market! We had so much fun and are astounded by the 700+ of you who showed up for the event.
