Kira Hughes started Roaming Roo Farm, LLC in Philomath in 2012, with two goats, a farm dream, and a lot of hard work. With a love of all animals that began in childhood, raising dairy goats was a long-sought and hard-earned goal.  Creating goat milk products was an unexpected but very welcome sustainable solution to the privilege and joy of abundance.  In other words, “What do I do with all this milk?”  The solution: abundance isn’t something you hoard—it’s something you share.  So I began making and sharing goat milk soap, cheese, and other products.

I am eager to share the joy of goats and the useful and beneficial products you can make from your relationship with them (should you have goats of your own) or with the bounty they make available to humans. I’m eager to use the traditional craft of soap-making as a medium for resourcefulness, creativity, and connection.
