WILLOW BASKETRY: SHOPPING BASKET

WITH ELI & BEN GOODWIN

Saturday and Sunday, April 4th - 5th, 2026

9:00am - 4:00pm, each day

In this class, students will be guided through the process of weaving a willow shopping basket, suitable for the farmers market, grocery store, or harvesting vegetables. Techniques will include round base construction and a variety of weaves, including French randing, English randing, waling, twining, and basic borders. Students will finish with the addition of a sturdy handle. Class designed with beginning and returning weavers in mind.

Age Requirement: This class is for adults 18+.


Location: Wade Hardware (400 SW 2nd St)


Students bring: hand pruners, sharp fixed blade knife, bodkin, large towel, large plastic bag. 


Tuition: $170

Materials fee: $110

Accessibility note: willow basketry can be a challenge for hands. Many of the operations require repetitive movements, hand strength, and coordination.
