WILLOW BASKETRY: WEAVE A BIRDHOUSE
WITH MARGARET MATHEWSON
Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
9:00am - 5:00pm
Make a sheltered drop-shaped nesting place or birdhouse for your feathered friends in a variety of wild and garden plants- mostly willow, but also ivy, honeysuckle, cedar, iris, rushes, roots, bark strips, palm stalks and more.
This project will have plenty of perching places, not too smooth, since birds love a less regular surface. Share 'birder' stories about door size, level, perch placement, local species that might visit, maintenance and cleaning.
Consider taking Sunday's Willow Basketry: Weave a Bird Feeder class for a full weekend of weaving with willow!
