MAKE A HANDCUT DOVETAIL BENCH
WITH KAT EDMONDS AND NAT STEIN
Join Highland Woodshop co-owners, Nat and Kat, for 8 Monday evenings this fall to learn traditional dovetail joinery. In the class, students will learn how to cut dovetails and use mortise and tenon joinery with hand saws and chisels, four-sqaure mill wood with handplanes, and sharpen and tune the hand tools used in the process. By the end of the class, students will go home with a small bench made by hand, assembled using traditional joinery techniques.
Note from the teachers: This is a complex project and takes a while to complete so we allow for 8 weeks of class, but understand that over 2 months, it's likely you will miss a few of the Mondays. If you can plan on making 6 of the 8 classes you should be able to complete your project. You will also have access to wood shop the second month of class for the purpose of completing your project if needed during our membership hours.
This class is in partnership with Highland Woodshop, and registration can be completed by clicking the link below, or through the Highland Woodshop website class page.
