WOODEN MALLETS: MAKE A SHOP TOOL

Building your own tools is a great way to learn skills while improving the capabilities of your shop! Students in this course will construct a sturdy wooden mallet, good for knocking joints together, tapping a chisel, or generally persuading anything that needs it.

Mallets will be made from a choice of local hardwoods and include a wedged through tenon and doweled ends. A mix of power and hand tools will be used, including a table saw and bandsaw. Class will run approximately 4 hours and students will take home a mallet that can be used the following day.
