1 - 4pm (3 hours)
Students will learn to make a bluebird house out of cedar. They will leave the class with an understanding of how to follow build plans, material choice, wood, nails, glue, and the use of tools, drill, jig saw and hammer. Bluebirds are cavity-nesting species, and they need shelter for protection from weather and predators, and to safely hatch eggs, more aggressive species can easily drive bluebirds out of prime nesting spaces. Students will take home a birdhouse to help attract bluebird tenants in their yard.
Age Requirement: This class is for adults and youth 12-17 and up if their parent or guardian is also registered for the class.
Location: Greenbelt Land Trust's Bald Hill Farm
