CREATE WITH CLAY: POTTERY AND HAND-BUILDING
WITH LAURA YOUNG
This workshop for beginners covers the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel and hand-building. Participants will be encouraged to make multiple projects using different techniques. Ample time will be available for participants to practice throwing on the pottery wheel and adding details to their hand-built creations. The morning portion of this class is focused on building technical skills while the afternoon portion is more casual, providing an open studio setting for participants to work on their individual creations with support from the instructor.
To finish ceramic creations with color, participants will meet for a half day to glaze their work. Projects will then be kiln fired and ready for pick up at a later date.
Age Requirement: this class is for adults and youth 8-17 if their parent or guardian is also registered for the class.
